DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Tennessee... North Fork of the Forked Deer at Dyersburg For the North Fork Forked Deer River...including Dyersburg...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...North Fork of the Forked Deer at Dyersburg. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Flooding is beginning in south Dyersburg. Several homes in southeast Dyersburg are surrounded by water and flood waters begin to cause access problems. Residents in this area should take necessary precautions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 9.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 25.0 feet Friday morning. It will then hold steady through the weekend. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.
Rain generally has a tendency to fall with less intensity over a greater period
of time, and when rainfall is more severe it is usually less sustained.

depending on the season and regional influences. Cities have been shown to have
an observable effect on rainfall, due to an effect called the urban heat island.
Compared to upwind, monthly rainfall between twenty and forty miles downwind of
cities is 30% greater.
